Marcella Ellis received her education from Howard University and the University of Maryland where she studied Business Management and Marketing. She went on to pursue her desire to practice in the field of Cosmetology by enrolling in Robert's Institute of Hair Design where she graduated and passed the State board of MD.
Furthering her education in Cosmetology she attended numerous advanced courses by top cosmetologists and companies such as Paul Mitchell, Kemi Products, Avlon and Dudley's to name a few. Her talent, knowledge, and skills allowed her to compete in various competitions winning numerous awards in hair styling and creativity. Her ongoing quests for advancement enabled her to return to the state board where she passed the exam and received her senior master's license.
Bronner Bros Baltimore and Atlanta Hair Show frequently featured Dream Weaver, Marcella Ellis teaching her revolutionary weaving and extension techniques.
Formerly the Director of Education at Roberts Institute of Hair Design, located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Marcella promoted a curriculum and developed an instructional style that thoroughly engaged the student and fostered rapid learning and retention. Her teaching skills were further enhanced at the Hair Academy, also located in the Washington, D.C metropolitan area. In addition, Marcella Ellis has owned 6 hair weaving, hair replacement salons throughout MD/ DC and VA. Since 1999 she has employed over 50 hair stylists and a team of educators delivering advanced services to the customer and training advanced skills to other industry professionals.
Currently Marcella Ellis is the owner of Marcella Ellis School of Cosmetic Arts, a vocational trade school located in the State of VA which provides continued education programs nationwide. The School of Cosmetic Arts is a certified workforce training provider for the federal government WIOA. Marcella and her education team have trained over 20,000 hair stylists and professionals since 1999. Marcella Ellis a Stylist Extraordinaire has been featured in numerous
media publications such as, Black Enterprise, Rolling Out Magazine, Beauty Times Magazine, Black Hair Sophisticates just to name a few.
Marcella Ellis an industry mogul has partnered with many global brands such as SalonCentric a subsidiary of Loreal, CosmoProf, and Sally Beauty, teaching her revolutionary skills in advanced techniques and launching the Marcella Ellis Signature Line of Products in over 1500 national retail store locations.
