Salon Retailer Policy: Wet Products

Become a Marcella Ellis Salon Retailer

Welcome to the Marcella Ellis professional retail family. Our salon retailer program gives you the opportunity to offer premium, moisture-rich, professional-grade hair care products to your clients — backed by a brand created by a master cosmetologist with years of industry experience. These guidelines outline the expectations, benefits, and responsibilities of being an official Marcella Ellis Salon Retailer.

Who Qualifies

You must be a licensed beauty industry business or professional to become a Marcella Ellis Salon Retailer. This includes:

  • Hair Salons

  • Barbershops

  • Cosmetology and Barber Schools

  • Day Spas and Wellness Centers

  • Licensed Suite Owners

Getting Started

To become an authorized retailer:

  1. Complete the Salon Retailer Application (available online or through our distributor).

  2. Submit proof of business license or professional license.

  3. Place an opening order (minimums listed below).

  4. Complete a brief product education overview or training call.

Once approved, you will receive:

  • Access to wholesale pricing

  • Branded retail display materials

  • Retail markup and profitability guide

  • Ongoing access to promotions, new releases, and training updates

Opening Order Requirements:

  • Individual Suite Owner

    • Opening Order Minimum: $150

  • Small Salon (1–4 chairs)

    • Opening Order Minimum: $300

  • Medium Salon (5–10 chairs)

    • Opening Order Minimum: $500

  • Large Salon/School

    • Opening Order Minimum: $750

Retail Pricing and Markup

  • Retailers receive products at wholesale prices and are required to follow Minimum Advertised Price (MAP) guidelines.

  • Suggested retail markup: 80–100% profit margin depending on the product category.

  • No unauthorized discounting, bundling with non-Marcella Ellis products, or resale on third-party sites (e.g., Amazon, eBay) is permitted.

Product Display & Merchandising

Retailers must:

  • Display Marcella Ellis products professionally and visibly in your retail area.

  • Use approved signage or branded materials (provided or downloadable).

  • Keep shelves clean, organized, and well-stocked.

Retailers are encouraged to:

  • Offer product demos or sample days for client education

  • Post Marcella Ellis product photos on social media and tag @marcellaellishair

Reordering & Restock Policy

  • Reorder Minimum: $100

  • Reorder Frequency: Every 30–60 days recommended to maintain shelf presence

  • Reorders can be placed directly through your assigned distributor or via our wholesale ordering portal.

Sales Support & Education

We are committed to helping you succeed as a retailer. Support includes:

  • Product training and ingredient education

  • Suggested client talking points and upsell strategies

  • Social media content and promo templates

  • Access to launch kits for new product rollouts

Optional in-person or virtual training events are available quarterly.

Territory & Exclusivity

Retailers are not granted territory exclusivity. However, those with consistent order history and volume may be considered for exclusive retail partnerships.

To qualify for exclusivity:

  • Minimum of $500 in orders monthly

  • Branded in-salon displays

  • Active promotional engagement on social platforms

  • Training participation

 Contract Duration & Compliance

  • There is no long-term contract for retailers, but retailers must maintain professional standards to remain in good standing.

  • Marcella Ellis reserves the right to suspend or terminate retailer access for:

    • Violating MAP pricing

    • Reselling unauthorized goods

    • Misrepresenting brand information

    • Lack of order activity (over 6 months)

How to Promote Your Retail Partnership

  • Use branded signage and displays

  • Tag @marcellaellisproducts on Instagram and TikTok

  • Promote product of the month or seasonal deals

  • Feature client testimonials using the products

  • Host mini-education events or retail open houses

 Contract Duration & Compliance

  • Marcella Ellis reserves the right to suspend or terminate retailer access for:

    • Violating MAP pricing

    • Reselling unauthorized goods
